Avocado

Sometimes referred to as an “Alligator Pear” it has a pear like shape and green bumpy textured rind. The pulp of the fruit has a smooth texture that can be compared to butter and tastes great. The avocado is a great salad accompaniment, and it is used in garnishes and spa treatments. 

In addition to its great taste the avocado has more potassium than a banana and contains nutrients that enable the body to more efficiently absorb heart healthy, and cancer fighting nutrients. Avocados are generally available all year.
