Del Monte Fresh Produce S.R.L

Del Monte Fresh Produce Company first expanded operations to Argentina in 1999, and after just two years began construction of a fruit distribution center in the Mercado Central de Buenos Aires. This high-tech distribution center is equipped with climate controlled refrigeration systems, which can store pallets of deciduous fruit, and computerized ripening rooms, that can hold many pallets of bananas. 

Around the same time in Argentina, Del Monte Fresh Produce Company started agricultural production of such commodities as wheat, corn, soy, and peanuts for domestic distribution. Operations started on about 4200 hectares, then in 2003 and 2004, that same operation had expanded six fold. As part of the project, Del Monte Fresh Produce S.R.L. has also constructed a high-tech silo plant in the providence of Cardoba located near Los Cisnes.
