At Del Monte Fresh Produce Company, we are dedicated to extending environmentally friendly farming practices through our growers and farming operations worldwide.  This includes, implementing management systems that will protect the environment, protect our workers, and ensure that the safest products are brought to market.

Del Monte Fresh Produce Company promotes sustainable agriculture, which benefits the environment by reducing air pollution, safer and more efficient use of water, and protects local wildlife habitats and populations. Part of our plan is to utilize improved methods of farming to protect vital top-soil from loss; including tilling soil and reducing plowing, improving ground coverings to protect soil erosion by wind and water, and replenishing the soil with natural nutrients that enhance soil fertility.

Our farming safeguards ensure that our products meet the strictest guidelines for sanitary and phytosanitary measures in the food industry. Safeguards like, Integrated Pest Management Systems (IPMs), which minimizes pesticide and fertilizer applications to the lowest acceptable levels are utilized. The proof of our success toward building an environmentally friendly company is demonstrated by the many performance certifications Del Monte Fresh Produce Company has achieved over the years from ISO 14001 and 9002 to EurepGAP.
